Art galleries and homages to the area’s culture can be found throughout the River Region. Check out the area’s many art galleries including Morris Museum of Art and Westobou Gallery. During October, participate in the area’s renowned art festival Westobou which features events all week long. The Augusta area is also home to many musicians including James Brown and Lady Antebellum. Explore the city to see the musician’s places of interest, and afterward catch live music at one of the many music venues in the area including the James Brown Arena, Miller Theater and the Imperial Theatre.
Augusta is known for golf for a reason, not just the Masters. With several golf clubs to choose from, take a swing friends at some of the area’s best golf courses including the Forest Hills Golf Club and the River Golf Club. If you prefer to spectate, enjoy a baseball game at the brand new SRP Park and cheer on the Augusta GreenJackets. The brand new stadium features dining and premium box seating, making the game more than just a spectator sport.
Take a stroll on the North Augusta Greeneway where every step leads you into some of North Augusta’s most beautiful views through neighborhoods, natural landscapes and alongside the Savannah River. For a more intimate and personal outdoor experience, visit the Brick Pond Park, a restored wetland with trails allowing you to be up-close with the wildlife or Augusta’s Phinizy Swamp, an ecological treasure.
